The Valley is the Place of Vision

yard 3Last week I was deleting photos off my phone and I came across a photo I had taken of a page in the book The Valley of Vision. Personally, I have a hard time finding vision in valleys. In their simplicity, these words really speak to me.

Let me learn by paradox
that the way down is the way up,
that to be low is to be high,
that the broken heart is the healed heart,
that the contrite spirit is the rejoicing spirit,
that the repenting soul is the victorious soul,
that to have nothing is to possess all,
that to bear the cross is to wear the crown,
that to give is to receive,
that the valley is the place of vision.

Lord, in the daytime stars can be seen from deepest wells,
deepest wells,
and the deeper the wells the brighter
Thy stars shine;

Let me find Thy light in my darkness,
Thy life in my death,
Thy joy in my sorrow,
Thy grace in my sin,
Thy riches in my poverty
Thy glory in my valley

Valentine’s / Olustee Weekend

olusteeRay and I had a really good Valentine’s / Olustee Festival weekend. To be honest, the majority of our weekends are made up of sleeping late, staying in pajamas, dishes laundry and maybe a little podcasting. Not so exciting, huh? We knew this weekend would be a little more interesting so we took the opportunity to vlog again!
So, why don’t you take a peek!

Guys, it was SOOO difficult to get this video uploaded to youtube. We’re still youtube beginners and in the process of figuring everything out. So, I apologize for this video being being about a week late.

Nailed It!

space nailsSo, you’re probably thinking “Hasn’t homegirl done space nails before?” The answer is yes and you can see them here. The old ones were awesome but the new ones are way more awesome and much easier! space nails 2To create this look I started by using a dark base color. After it dried, I randomly sponged on white, teal and navy polishes on top of the base color. I finished the look with a black and white matte glitter and a clear top coat. The glitter is great because it gives the look of stars and moons in one quick coat.space nails 3Used:
Dive Bar by Essie
Midnight Cami by Essie
Green with Envy by Orly
Alpine Snow by OPI
Clearly Spotted by Maybelline
Seche Vite Top Coat

Valentines Day!

vintage val 5I sure hope all of you had a wonderful Valentines Day with people you love. Ray and I love each other everyday, but it’s fun to do a little extra celebrating once a year. We spent yesterday exploring our small town festival, running into friends and partying it up! ALSO, isn’t this valentine CREEPY?!
