This past week we (mostly Ray) spent lots of time working in our garden.
Ray moved a literal ton of dirt. He’s so strong.
We played Apples to Apples on Wednesday night and I was TERRIBLE.
Black Cat had manhood surgery and came home and peed on everything (15 minutes before so many people came over). I think he was just scared though, because he’s been fine since.
We’ve been re-watching Arrested Development so I painted my nails with Happy Hands polish, For British Eyes Only.
We went to see our friends Josh and Brittany Nettles play a show at a local Cafe last night. They were excellent!

The Office and tears

I know it might sound ridiculous, but the fact that tonight will be the final episode of The Office is seriously making my heart ache. I started watching sometime in 2007, which I believe was during the second season and I was instantly hooked. Remember when Jim and Pam were falling in love? And when Michael got Ryan an ipod for Christmas? Phyllis and Bob’s Wedding? The dundie awards? And remember when we found out Angela and Dwight were together!? Ah, memories. I’ve actually been kind of anti-The Office for the past 2 seasons. I just felt like maybe they were losing their touch. The Jim and Pam fighting episodes were almost too much for me to deal with. HOWEVER, the last 3 or 4 episode have been incredible and I think the writers have done and awesome job of tying up lose ends.
I think tonight is going to be bittersweet. What are some of your favorite Office moments? Let’s reminisce.

Mousing Around

Some of you may already know this, but I work in a public library. Half of my time is spent checking books in and out, helping patrons on the public computers, answering some reference questions, helping patrons locate books and movies, etc. The rest of my time is spent in the adult literacy department.
We focus primarily on teaching basic literacy skills (reading and writing) and English as a second language. In the last year or so I have been teaching a basic computer class. Whew. Guys, it’s wonderful and crazy all at the same time. Most of my students are older people who have NEVER EVEN TOUCHED A COMPUTER. Crazy, huh? It can get super frustrating, like when homegirl continuously right clicks even when you’ve told her 14 times to left click, but it’s also really rewarding seeing my students learn and grow.
I thought it would be fun to share with you some of the websites I’ve used either for class and reference.

Cream based minty polish with a glitter top coat. Not so exciting, right? WRONG. Guys, when I had this combo on I literally felt like I was wearing a mid-nineties prom dress on my nails. I featured the glitter polish, Hard Candy’s Celebrate Sequins, in my April Favorites last week. It’s one of the most beautiful (and chunky?) polishes I’ve ever seen. Also, I bought mine for less than $5. Obsessed!!Please excuse the not-so-awesome quality of these photos, as they were taken with my iphone a little while ago.

Daily life with Alliray via iphone photos.We’ve been working on our yard a lot lately and yesterday Ray finished building one of our raised beds. We’re excited for the weekend!
