San Francisco Weekend

I spent a golden weekend in the golden state celebrating my friend Jenna’s birthday. We visited Chinatown, the mission district, the full house house, Sausalito, the ferry building, and Ghirardelli square. We walked 35 miles (this is almost accurate), climbed so many hills, rode a cable car, explored Muir Woods, and biked across the Golden Gate Bridge. We ate delicious food and drank not enough cocktails. We packed so much into three days! This was my first time visiting San Francisco and hopefully won’t be my last. It was a wonderful weekend and I wanted to share some of my photos with you!

3 things I need for being 30

In 3 days I will be 30. The big 3-0!! I’m a little sad because I don’t want wrinkles, but I’m mostly happy to be older and wiser. Here are 3 items I need to purchase for my 30 year old self and why:
(there are far too many 3’s in the post. sorry, kind of)qooden watch 1. Jord Cora Koa & Rose Gold watch – On the real, I haven’t worn a watch consistently since I was working at summer camps. My summer camp watches were plastic, costs around $10, and were usually broken by the end of the summer. I think it’s time, being an almost-thirty-year-old lady, to have a nice watch. I love the rose gold + wood combo. As my wedding band is also made of wood, I think it they’ll look nice together. black-and-white-polka-dot-twin-sheets-1024x3642. 600 thread count polka dot sheets – Good soft sheets are important, and not just once you reach 30. I believe every adult should have at least one pair of good sheets. I love these because polka dots are (still) my jam!raw opal 3. Raw Opal Ring – Can I tell you a sort of sad story? When Ray I got engaged he gave me a vintage opal ring. I love it with all my heart. The opal was a little “dusty” which made it unique. Then one day, a few years ago, the opal fell out and was gone forever. Ray had the stone replaced, but the ring just wasn’t the same. Even though that special ring is no longer the same, it made me fall in love with opals. Also, apparently it’s my birthstone!! I’ve had my eye on these raw opal rings for a while! Aren’t they fun?

Well, that’s it. I’m sure there are more things I need like anti-aging cream and orthopedic shoes, but maybe those can wait a few more years. We’ll see…

Happy Birthday Black Cat

IMG_1085 weekend - 2Guys, it’s almost Black Cat’s B-day! I promise we’re not those crazy people that are obsessed with their pets… I promise! A few weeks prior to finding Black Cat, Ray discovered 4 kittens under one of our bushes. We bathed and fed them, but after failed attempts at giving them away we ended up taking them to the pound. Shorty after that, Ray found BC hiding in our shed. He was so teeny and weird and lived in our bathroom for a few days until we decided we loved him. bc 2We actually have no idea when he was born, but we assume he was around 4 weeks old on Memorial Day 2012. BC has such a distinct personality for a cat. He ALWAYS wants to be in the same room we’re in. He LOVES to be held like a baby and doesn’t get mad if you just carry him around the house. He has 2 messed up ears. He sits on our couch like a person. He loves tomatoes and he’s scared of children. There’s Black Cat in a nutshell.

Happy Birthday Ray!

photo (38)Happy birthday to my favorite person on Earth! I know this is sorta mushy, and if you need to skip this part and head straight for the pictures. My life is so much richer now that I share it with Ray. He’s sweet, hilarious and totally gets me even when I don’t make sense. He’s strong and brave and speaks the truth. Even when we were “just friends” I couldn’t imagine my life without him.creepy ray
engagement Ray will get mad if I call him “hot” on the internet, so instead I’ll just say he’s easy on the eyes. 😉blueberries - 2Happy birthday to my fave!

Happy Birthday Brie!

Guys, my sister is 22 today. 22!! I remember sitting in a waiting room watching Sleeping Beauty waiting on her to be born. She’s my best friend and one of the funniest people you will ever meet in your entire life.

Brie (or Senorita or Brita or Rita or RRRRIIIIIITTTTTTTTAAAAAAAA) currently lives in Nakuru, Kenya working for His Cherished Ones International. So, I mean, she’s basically just playing with way cute babes in the Af all day.

I love my Rita sooooooooooooooooooooo much. Go tell her Happy Birthday on her
facebook. Or her twitter. Or her blog (which she will hopefully update soon.)
