Labor Day Date

Our Labor Day was spent driving with he windows down, mourning over a broken coffee grinder, learning how to use my new to me iphone (hello 2007), meeting up with friends for a guitar pedal exchange, eating mexican for lunch (complete with extremely loud Spanish love ballads coming from the kitchen), buying nail polish and eye shadow on sale, selling a double bass pedal (I don’t even know what that is) to a creeptron from craigslist, taking pictures, drinking milkshakes (mine: peach, Ray’s: peanut butter), coming home and watching My Name is Earl. It was wonderful.
How was your Labor Day?

Date day

So, I took this past Friday off. I’m going to be honest, I work with a lot of ladies and I really just needed a break. Also, I had a personal day I had to use before the end of September. Win win! Ray planned a date day that began at 6am with him waking me up with hot donuts from my favorite local shop. It was really sweet, but a little early so we went back to sleep (thank goodness). After a few more hours of beauty rest, we left for Gainesville to see Moonrise Kingdom! Yes, I had already seen it but Ray hadn’t and I was more than willing to view it again. I think I enjoyed it even more the second time.

After the movie we wanted to go to Target but it was SUPER busy with all the college students buying dorm sheets and desk lamps so we decided to skip it and headed straight to Sam’s. Did I mention we’re 65? We also visited a fairly lame music store and grabbed dinner at Chipotle. All in all, it was a pretty successful date day.

coffee date

Who loves coffee? Me! But, I have to admit, I’ve only loved coffee for a few years now. I was a starbucks girl for a while, but I usually only got frappuccinos which is more of a distant cousin to coffee. Also, to be honest, going to the bucks for me was more of a social thing and had very little to do with the beverages. It all started a little over a year ago when I had a really crummy job (that I promptly quit after about a month… ha) and one of the things that would get me through the day was delicious made-at-home coffee. Can I get an amen?

Sometimes Ray and I like to have living room coffee dates. Getting hyped up on sugar and caffeine and watching Battlestar Galactica is romantic, right?
