Can you tell I started re-reading the Harry Potter series last week? The gold and lightening bolt shape were absolutely inspired by my fave wizards! About a year ago I did 4 nail looks inspired by the Hogwarts houses Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. Check ’em out!
Hufflepuff nails, my favorite so far! These are in honor of Cedric, the only interesting Hufflepuff that was ever really mentioned (besides Helga). I received more compliments on these nails than I have on any others in my life. No joke. 
I love the 3 colors together and think this design would look really nice using other autumnal colors. You know, add a little orange or brown to the mix.
I will definitely be sporting these again in the near future!

Ravenclaw nails! You knew it was coming. I would like to dedicate these nails to my friend Jenna, the ultimate Ravenclaw. 
I would also like to add that yes, I know in the books the Ravenclaw colors are blue and bronze. However, in the movies the colors are blue and grey and it seems most Ravenclaw themed item (shirts, scarves, etc.) are marketed towards the movie colors. Don’t worry, I’m still loyal to the books. =)
Confession: I love Harry Potter. Now, I know that’s not too embarrassing… but I’m 26 and I have a pottermore account. Like, I’ve had one for almost a year, since it was still in beta. I actually have hardly spent any time on the site, BUT I did get sorted into a house. AND… I was put in Slytherin. Of course. Anyway, here is my first installment of Harry Potter themed nails!
For these nails I used Maybelline Color Show polish in Tenacious Teal and Essie’s No Place Like Chrome.
