This past weekend Ray and I (and many more friends) made our annual trek to Orlando for MegaCon! MegaCon is a large comic/cosplay/fan convention. This was my 4th year attending. I only took a few iphone snap shots this year, but you can see photos (taken with a real camera) and read about past years here, here, here, here, here, and here.
This year, our group had a table in artists alley where we promoted Infinity Con, our friend David sold his short story, and I sold a few art prints. I spent basically zero time prepping but ended up selling more art than I expected to!
Here’s a commission I did 45 minutes before closing time on Sunday.
My favorite experience from Megacon 2016 was attending a Q&A with Elden Henson, who stars as Foggy Nelson in Dare Devil. I’ve been a fan of his since he played Fulton Reed in Mighty Ducks! Because we were vendors at the con, we were able to get preferred seating at all the panels and Q&As – which means we ended up with second row seats to see Elden! He was outgoing, funny, and had a great rapport with the audience.
We saw a lot of costumes, met up with old friends, hustled Infinity Con, networked, ate a bunch of Mexican food, walked 230948230948 steps a day, and slept very little. It was great! If you ever get the chance to attend MegaCon, I suggest you take it! Even if you’re not into nerd life (because I’m really not), it’s such a great experience!

Megacon 2015 Part 2
If you haven’t read part 1, go read that first!
As I said yesterday, the costumes at Megacon this year were fantastic!! We took over 100 photos at the convention and picking the best ones to post proved VERY difficult.
Here are some great ones:
Spider-Gwen and Spider-Man were very well represented:
Also, Dying-Gwen and Spider-Man.
Deadpool was probably over-represented:
And now for my favorite costumes of the Convention:
Megacon 2015 Part 1
It’s taken me a really long time to post about Megacon, which took place 2 1/2 weeks ago. It’s such an overwhelming experience and I needed time to come down from the high of that weekend. I didn’t grow up reading comics. I’ve only played one video game in my life and it was when I was in my twenties (and I hated it.) 97% of the nerd knowledge I have, I’ve gained in the past 4 years while being married to Ray. Despite being a late bloomer into the world of nerd, I LOVE attending Megacon! This was my 3rd consecutive year attending the convention, and it was a completely new experience!
This year I helped represent Lunar Eleven Studios in Artists Alley, and was given a press pass to cover the event. So, I was pretty fancy. I spent my time split between working the Lunar Eleven table, talking to potential Infinity Con vendors, watching Ray shop for comic books, and taking pictures of people in costumes- my fave!
We saw a bunch of great costumes:
Some really crazy sometimes confusing costumes:
Several seriously impressive Groots:
The cutest babies to ever wear costumes:
More cosplay photos coming soon!!!
MegaCon
Tomorrow evening Ray and I will be making our 3rd trip to MegaCon in Orlando, Fl! We’re both really excited! Never in my life did I expect to regularly attend comic shows (life changes when you get married.)
This year we will be vlogging for the podcast Ray is a part of, Nerds Who Get Laid, Sometimes, and representing Lunar Eleven Studios in artist alley. We will also be promoting InfinityCon!
My favorite thing to do at MegaCon is people watch. I love all the costumes!! Be on the look out for a Megacon 2015 recap post!
Megacon Vlog!
A week and a half ago Ray and I, along with several friends/creatives we’re working on some projects with, went to Megacon in Orlando! It was such a great weekend! We were able to meet and brainstorm with our team, attend several informative panels, listen to the legendary Stan Lee speak (Ray’s fave) and observed many MANY cosplayers (my fave). Check out our vlog for all the fun!
