Nailed it!

Here are my most recent nails! As you can tell, I’m into the color purple right now. Also, I just found out that there is a TV show called Nailed It… What?! I don’t have cable so I never know about these things. Hopefully, it’s about people painting palm trees or puppy dogs or something else equally ridiculous onto nails.

I’m still trying to get the hang of these stickers. I guess practice makes perfect, right?

Nailed it!

The temp seems to be holding steady in the upper 90’s these days and as much as I love Florida, I really do NOT love the summer heat. You would think that after 26 years of living here I would get used to it, but that hasn’t seemed to happen. To me the summer means iced coffee, driving around the lake with the windows down, fireworks, bright colors, summer camp, rain storms, fresh fruit, etc.

These blue and coral zig-zag nails (Ray picked out the colors) scream summer to me. I wanted something fun, bright and not too complicated. I used my nail stickers and 2 contrasting polishes to create this look. Aren’t they fun?! I was pretty impressed with the results… especially since I did them in super dim light at 12am and had to recruit Ray to help me with the stickers. =)

Nailed it!

This might seem obvious to some of you, but I don’t think I’ve talked about my nail polish love (read: obsession) on the blog. At this point I paint my nails about 3 times a week. I try to change up the color pretty regularly, but I tend to stay in a blue/green palette. A few months ago I was reading Kaylah’s blog and she mentioned using nail stickers by this ebay seller. I decided to try them out and this was the result of my first attempt.

I went with the normal straight tip (or french tip or whatever) for my first try. I wanted to get a feel for how sticky the stickers would be, if there would be any color bleeding, if I could manage to take off a sticker while my nails were still wet and not have a catastrophe, etc. I think it will take some more practice, but I like the results. Straight lines and minimal color bleeding.
